There are many forms of renewable energy . Renewable energy includes Biomass Energy, Wind Energy, Geothermal Energy, Hydroelectric Energy and Solar Energy.

One of the advantages of Biomass Energy is that it creates no harmful carbon dioxide emissions. Carbon dioxide can cause harm to the ozone layer and increases the global warming of the planet. You can call it clean energy as we have it in large number. As long as there is living on earth it never runs out. In the UK for example biomass fuels are made from recycled chicken droppings. Disadvantage is that it is expensive when you use waste products of animals for fuel. You must invest in care, feeding and housing. It increases methane gases which are harmful to the Earth’s ozone layer. In the regions were they use biomass for energy it can smell terribly.

Wind Energy’s advantage is that it doesn’t pollute the air and that wind is always there. Wind is actually a kind of Solar Energy because it is caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, rotation of the Earth and varying temperatures of the Earth’s surface when it was lit by sunlight. Disadvantage is the impact on wildlife and surrounding environment. Wind turbines can be harmful to birds and other flying creatures. Noise disturbance of the turbines is very annoying and harmful to your health. Wind can never be predicted and wind doesn’t blow reliably and even strong. Because of that a lot of turbines are needed to produce significant amounts of energy. Wind turbines are a visual pollution for people.

Geothermal Energy is like having a fireplace near to you that never stops heating. The fire exists at the core of the Earth. It measures close to 3982 degrees Celsius. Geothermal Energy is a source for as long as our planet exists. It is a stable resource. Home owners can save a lot of money with Geothermal Energy. One of the disadvantages is that it can cause surface instability. In 1997 for example the construction of a geothermal power plant in Switzerland  triggered an earthquake with a magnitude of 3,4 on the scale of Richter. Also boring into warm rock is trouble. You have to find an area with at least 176 degrees Celsius otherwise it is not hot enough. Distribution costs can be high when Geothermal Energy is transported long distances.

With Hydroelectric Energy we take advantage of gravity and the water cycle. It is a method that is many centuries old. The power of moving water generates electricity. It is the largest non-polluting source of emissions-free, renewable electricity worldwide. Disadvantages are that blocking rivers with dams can degrade the water quality, damage to the habitat in the water and surrounding, blocking migratory fish passage. Often people have to move to make space for hydroelectric energy winning. Dams are extremely expensive to build and must be built to a very high standard. Because of the high costs of dam construction they must operate for many decades to become profitable.

The most easy way to get energy is to use that of the sun. Solar energy is the direct conversion of sunlight using panels or collectors. This form of energy relies on the nuclear fusion power from the core of the Sun. Solar power disadvantages are actually not so plentiful. In fact, there’s only one notable disadvantage to solar power that I can think of. That disadvantage is that the sun doesn’t shine 24 hours a day. One example to solve this problem with low costs is the Powerwall Elon Musk introduced. Solar Energy helps to slow and hopefully stop global warming. It saves a lot of money because global warming is projected to cost society trillions of dollars.  Every household can save lots of money and get energy independet by producing its own energy.

Solar power is the best solution of all  because there are really no arguments against it.  If you look at the other energies there are much more disadvantages. The energy from the sun is a free recource almost every country has. Think about all the roofspace! Put solar panels on all roofs that are in the right direction and you need no other energy any more. We can produce enough energy for the whole world. Let’s get solar!
